The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a sports car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 1954. The designation SL comes from the German "Sport Leicht" (Light Sports). The SL has represented the excellence of the German make in the sports sector for more than half a century.

The Mercedes-Benz W107 began in 1972 as a substitute for the previous model popularly known as Pagoda. The third generation of the SL was built until 1989 and is known as one of the most successful. In 1985 the last modification of the W107 was launched and a new range of engines entered the market, practically replacing all the engineering of the 107. The new engines, despite having larger displacement, turned out to be more economical than their predecessors was launched. The M110 engine was replaced by the M103 6-cylinder in line and 3,000 cc, from which the Mercedes engineers were able to obtain 188 hp at 5,700 r.p.m., reaching a top speed of 207 km/h. A five-speed gearbox and a completely renewed suspension were introduced.

Aesthetically, this last modification retains the classic structure of the 107, although several innovations were added, such as the larger bumper, which makes the vehicle look sportier. On the inside, the front seats rise for improved visibility and comfort is improved. The model of the Grup Limousines Collection has many extras as well as heating and air conditioning, hardtop or the possibility of including two rear seats (2 + 2). All these features make the W107 300SL a very comfortable and pleasant car to drive, over both long and short distances.
