Bultaco, Montesa and Ossa were purely the three Spanish companies, which for the 60 "and 70" of the last century and with their model Shrapnel, Impala and Sport, spread these brands worldwide.

The quality, beauty, elegance, robustness, performance and reliability of the Impala were such that even today you can see a number of Impalas circulating in Barcelona.

The Montesa IMPALA TOURISM  first went on sale in June 1962. It was given the name IMPALA to commemorate "Operation Impala", a journey of 20,000 kilometre’0s and 100 days through Africa, made on prototypes of this model. The rally left Cape Town in the Union of South Africa on 15 January 1962 and reached Barcelona on April 17, at 7.21 pm. The operation was a complete success, and catapulted the brand to fame and commercial success.

Also in 1962, the IMPALA won the Golden Delta award for the best industrial design from the Association of Industrial Design of the Fomento de las Artes Decorativas.

Bultaco, Montesa and Ossa were the three purely Spanish companies, which achieved worldwide fame in the 1960’s and 70’s with their Shrapnel, Impala and Sport models respectively.

The quality, beauty, elegance, toughness, performance and reliability of the Impala were such that even today you can still see a good number of Impalas in circulation in Barcelona.
