This model has been chosen by many royal  families for its comfort and reliability as an official car: Prince Haakon of Norway and his wife Mette-Marit, the Prince and Princess of Jordan, and a long list of presidents (notably J.F.K.) have been among the privileged users of this model.

Only one car a day was produced, which was carefully checked. And once a week one car was taken out to be subjected to a rigorous inspection from top to bottom. The quality control department only employed women for this work, as contemporary research indicated that women were more meticulous than men in tasks of this kind.

One noteworthy feature is that the rear doors open in the opposite direction to normal. When opened by a professional chauffeur, getting in and out of the vehicle is much more comfortable for the passengers.

Our model is from 1965, the first year that disc brakes were incorporated into the design.
